The Work Placement Experience Programme

Applications are now being sought from companies who wish to become a host organisation for this scheme. This programme provides a valuable boost to employers who are exploring options to grow their business.

The programme supports the provision of training and work placement by employers by acting as hosts to the participant; this scheme has a value of almost €8,000 over the period of a placement in saved wages.

  • The scheme provides an opportunity for employers to become a host organisation and to host a participant on a work placement for 30 hours per week for a duration of 6 months at no cost to the company.
  • The participant is paid an allowance of €306 per week by The Department of Social Protection
  • The Work Placement Experience Programme is open to application from customers aged between 18-65 years of age who are in receipt of a qualifying payment for 6 months
  • Participants are required to engage in at least 60 hours of training; including certified and non certified training over the six month placement.

The identification of suitable training will be established in conjunction with the Host Organisation, the participant and with a Department Case Officer, where necessary

  • Training is available to the participant from a variety of training providers including the Education and Training Boards, Skillnet, LinkedIn, Accenture etc.
